We focus on designing and co-developing tailored products for the local use-case that unlocks mass-scale deployment to a completely untapped market.

About the role:

The Director of Production is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the production process, from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery. They will lead a team of production managers and collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, design, and engineering, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products within deadlines and budgets. The Director of product will be based in Kenya half time and Sweden.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and budgets that align with the company's overall strategy and goals.
• Manage and oversee a team of production managers, ensuring that they are meeting their objectives and goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective production processes.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the production process.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of production processes and implement improvements as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and integrate them into production processes as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering, production management, or business administration. A Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in production management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Experience in African economies will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of production processes, tools, and techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
